Happy New Year of the Horse

My friend Houston Huang, a prominent Chinese businessman and entrepreneur, says that this new Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse, which starts today, will give us all the opportunity to run and reach new goals and destinations.

For us Kazakhs, the horse is one of the Seven Sacred Treasures of the Kazakhs, a symbol woven deeply into our history, identity and way of life.

The horse has been, since time immemorial, a partner in survival, a symbol of perseverance, and a reminder that progress is only achieved by those who move forward with courage and determination.

In business and in life, the spirit of the horse is alive today.

The horse represents momentum, perseverance, and the ability to travel long distances with patience and strength—traits that characterize entrepreneurs and nations that continue to build, create value, and grow.

Now that we are starting to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, I want to send greetings to all our friends in China, Southeast Asia, and beyond, and to all those following Chinese traditions.

May this be a moment to remind us all of the strong and growing ties between Kazakhstan and our Chinese partners and friends, whose cooperation continues to create new opportunities for trade, investment, and cultural exchange across Eurasia.
