Kazakhstan Enters the Global AI Arena
With Higgsfield, Kazakhstan becomes a full-fledged player in the AI space. We have so much to look forward to.
We have all heard the success story of Higgsfield AI, one of the leading AI projects in the world, and now Kazakhstan’s first unicorn, valued at over a billion.
The company, founded by Kazakh AI researcher Erzat Dulat and Alex Mashrabov, former director of generative AI at Snapchat, is capable of generating impressive video content, and is already being used by some of the most important celebrities and business people in the world, including luminaries such as Madonna or the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk.
Now it is not only about ChatGPT or Anthropic. LLMs can be created in Central Asia and change the way video is created. Let that sink in.
Young Kazakhs have proved that technology emanating from within our nation can have a global impact and make a dent internationally.
It’s been said that Dulat is one of the top AI experts in the world. Hats off to him, and to the inspiration he means to our young engineers and experts.
I have seen the spectacular market proposition of Higgsfield, which describes itself on its website as a “brand-new GenAI video platform designed specifically for creative professionals like music video directors, commercial filmmakers, AI creators, and social media storytellers who want to produce high-quality, stylized content with true cinematic control.”
Note that, with its global reach and impact, most of the company’s team works from Almaty, and that returning to Kazakhstan was one of the main reasons the company was founded a couple of years ago.
I have been involved in the investor space for decades now, and it has become clear to me that a certain degree of grit, along with the ability to look into the future, is critical to market success.
Of course, AI is here now, and it will redefine how we interact with the world for many years to come.
As Kazakhstan’s President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proclaimed, 2026 will be the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. We have so much to look forward to, and I will support in every way I can.
It seems that, in the near future, even Hollywood and the world of social media creators will be heavily influenced by the work of Kazakhstani entrepreneurs.
